“Tilaw serves filipino dishes. Food is worth for its price. We went for lunch buffet and the dishes in the menu were exciting. My favorite was bistek tagalog. However, I noticed the trays should be refilled every now and then. I was sad that calamansi juice was not available but there were other options to try + red horse beer is available in the house”

“The location of the restaurant isn’t ideal, it’s located inside a shopping mall that looks deserted. It’s run down and shops around were closing down. However, inside was lovely. It had nice vibes and food was good. It wasn’t busy when we went so that was good. Also enjoyed the starters and mains and very filling. Would come back to try other dishes. They also gave some freebie for us to try which was so nice of them. Thanks friendly staff.”

“First time trying Filipino food and it’s well worth a try. Definitely a hidden gem in Romford, they offer some authentic Filipino cuisines. Their chicken nachos is a must order, absolutely delicious! Only negative points I have to say is customer service, as waiter wasn’t sure on how to explain certain dishes to us. Customer toilet was out of order and not in usable condition as there was some sort of water leak. Other than that this place is a family run authentic Filipino restaurant which is definitely worth a try.”

“First time eating Philippino food and it was amazing. It's a small family run business food can take a while so allow time but it's worth the wait everything is good. If I lived closer I would be coming regularly. Loved everything we ate.”

“The location was quite easy to find, despite some conflicting reviews. They mentioned being out of stock for cocktails, which was disappointing since they had just opened. My friend and I ordered the adobo wings and lumpia, both of which were very well-seasoned and tasty. For our main courses, I had the crispy honey garlic chicken with rice, while my friend chose the crispy pork with rice. When the food arrived, I was immediately struck by the tiny portion of the crispy pork dish. The pork looked incredibly dry, and my friend, who tried it, found it too hard and painful to eat, so she had to send it back to the kitchen to order something else. The honey garlic chicken was okay, but it wasn’t as well-seasoned as I would have liked. I managed to finish it, though. During our visit, we were also surprised to see two guys set up to sing, which made it difficult for us to hear each other across the table. Overall, I had a mixed experience. The wings and lumpia were delicious, but the rest of the food was disappointing. I don’t think I’ll be returning for anything, other than the wings for takeaway.”
